IBM Intros Investor Relations Podcasts

by Eric Schwartzman

As was reported on Friday of last week, IBM will join other name brand corporations in using podcasts to communicate directly with constituents. IBM’s podcasts will be used to create a dialouge with their shareholders, the company announced. CNN online has a story on the announcement.

CNN ONLINE:

Now major companies are joining the trend. In a recent report, technology market research firm Gartner Inc. (down $0.17 to $10.41, Research) cited automaker General Motors Corp. (down $0.86 to $35.19, Research) and soft drink maker PepsiCo Inc. (down $0.31 to $54.39, Research) as among corporate podcasters.

On a GM-sponsored site, listeners can hear Bob Lutz, its chief car designer, discuss new auto designs. PepsiCo uses podcasting in a marketing campaign.
